Meditation techniques for relaxation

After a busy day, programmed with meeting deadlines, preparation materials and attending meetings etc., you will have a strong desire to relax. There are so many ways to relax yourself these days. The most effective and simplest of these is meditation.

How would one do it? You may have heard others discuss meditation procedures before. Contrary to what you might think that performing meditation is difficult and strenuous; it's a pretty easy job. The idea of   meditation revolves around bringing your thoughts into focus (any element of relaxation) for a sustained period of time.

This will allow your mind to rest and your stressful thoughts will inevitably be diverted elsewhere. Your body and brain will certainly build strength and relaxation through meditation. The dirt accumulated in your body will also be eliminated.

You will find that during meditation, your breathing slows down and your blood pressure also decreases. Moreover, it also gives the following results and allows you to be more focused in your daily routine.

Relaxes muscles Relieves stress and irritability Eliminates disturbing thoughts Eliminates lactic acid Thoughtless Relieves headaches and anxiety Focusing on one thing is the true nature of all meditation activities. This is the most active procedure contrasted with the hypnotic procedure. All mental aspects of a person should be focused on the subject of meditation. It takes about 30 minutes to complete any meditation activity, and you're sure to be in a relaxed state.

Choose a meditation posture according to your comfort. The breath, sound, image or any other object can be your meditation point. The most important thing to consider in any meditation activity is concentration. Distractions can come from outside thoughts and you have to work very hard to get rid of them. This problem is mainly encountered by beginners, who find it difficult to organize their wandering thoughts. Only practice can make you perfect in your meditation practice and you will soon feel progress.

Some meditation exercises are most commonly used to relax and get rid of stress.

1. Relaxing tension: Grip your hand and pull your forearm firmly into your biceps. Keep all the muscles tight, including the leg and jaw muscles. Now breathe deeply for at least 5 seconds and then relax your body immediately. You will feel the relaxing feeling of tension.

2. Heavy/Hot: This can be done by feeling heavy and hot in your feet and legs. You can do this by imagining that you are wearing lead boots. In this technique, you must feel the heat and heaviness spreading throughout your body.

3. Ideal Relaxation: In this meditation you must close your eyes and create a place of supreme relaxation in your mind. Choose a location and equip it to your personal style. Now imagine that you go there after wearing comfortable clothes. Create a sweet feeling like being in your relaxing place.
