How to quit Smoking..?

Quit Smoking

According to a recent US government report. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than twenty percent of the adult men and women in the United States smoke, while more than eighty percent of them light a cigarette a day. .

The reason smoking is such a problem is that nicotine's addictive consequences are leading to various types of cancer, strokes and heart attacks. Thus, every day is the right time to quit smoking.

Smokers have come up with countless reasons to want to quit. Some had to stop for medical reasons. This is not surprising given that more than 400,000 Americans die each year from tobacco-related diseases. Heart disease, cancer, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, pulmonary emphysema, bronchitis, ulcers and many other diseases are the most common diseases directly caused by smoking.

In addition, the treatment of pre-existing conditions can be complicated by smoking. The risk of anesthesia and postoperative ramifications is increased with tobacco use. Social pressure is another major reason to stop. Smoking today is considered pungent, pungent and disgusting for non-smokers as well as by most of the more than 50 million ex-smokers in our country. While smoking was once considered stylish, today's smokers are looked down upon by many of their peers.

Some current smokers feel that they seem to lack self-discipline and scorn for not having the intelligence to quit. Some people want to quit to set a positive example for their young people.

The cost of smoking is another major reason. Many people remember the saying of : "If cigarettes hit $1 a pack, I'll quit!" Now, cigarettes are almost five times that number, and people, too, have continued to smoke. Some smokers may be motivated to quit when they realize they are spending $ k per year maintaining their addiction. In addition, smokers burn holes in their clothes, cars, furniture and carpets. Not only can it cause costly burns, but it can also start fires by accident. In fact, more than half of all fire deaths in our country are due to smoking.

Many people have quit smoking for a considerable amount of time and have continued to smoke. When they stopped smoking, they felt healthier, calmer and happier. But ignorance allowed spanking. This has led to an increase in their official addiction . Some people need help to quit smoking. They knew the dangers, the plagues and the costs, but still couldn't stop. Smoking is addictive . It is important to remember that once you are an addict, you are still an addict. Once you've quit smoking for a short time, quitting is relatively easy.

Sometimes you will have thoughts for a cigarette, but they are nothing compared to the urges experience when quitting during early quitting. But you should always remember that a single smoke will bring you back to a state of complete addiction. Then you will have to start smoking again or start quitting again. Those are two disgusting options. Consider both if you're going to take a shower. Follow the winners and never eat again!

Stopping Gradually - One step at a time

Stop following the gradual separation method. If you know a smoker that he really despises, you should actively encourage him or her to adhere to a "kill" approach. Call them daily on and ask them to smoke just one cigarette.

In other words, if they normally smoke 40 cigarettes a day, then just smoke 39 on the first day you try to quit. The next day they should be promoted to to smoke just thirty-eight then thirty-seven into the next day and so on. Then you should call these people daily to congratulate them and encourage them to keep going. I have to stress again that this should only be done with a smoker you really despise.

Prepare to quit smoking

* Set a date to quit smoking. If possible, ask someone you know to quit smoking with you.

* Pay attention to when and how you smoke. Try to find things in everyday life that you regularly do while smoking (such as drinking a morning cup of coffee or driving a car).

* Change your smoking habits: Keep your cigarettes somewhere else. Smoke with your other hand. Do nothing else while smoking. Think about how you would feel if you smoked.

* Only smoke in special places, such as outdoors.

* If you want to smoke, wait a few minutes. Try to think of something to do instead of smoking; you can chew gum or drink a glass of water .

* Buy a pack of cigarettes at a time. Switch to brands of cigarettes you don't like.

Smoking not only hurts the smoker but also family members, co-workers, and others who breathe in the smoke of the smoker, known as secondhand smoke. In infants up to 18 months of age, secondhand smoke is associated with 300,000 cases of bronchitis and pneumonia each year.

Secondhand smoke from parental tobacco increases the risk of middle ear disorders among young people , causing coughing and wheezing, and exacerbating cases of asthma. If both parents smoke, an adolescent is more than twice as likely to smoke as a young adult whose father and mother both do not smoke. In households where only one parent smoked, young people were also more likely to start smoking.

Pregnant women who smoke are more likely to give birth to babies who are very low birth weight compared to healthy babies. If all  women stopped smoking during pregnancy, about 4000 newborn babies would not die each year.
